Appearance of the shrub:

• The Camellia japonica 'Black Lace' is a beautiful evergreen shrub with dark, glossy green leaves. The leaves are oval in shape with a slightly serrated edge, which provides a lush contrast to the striking flowers.
• The flowers are deep red to almost black in colour, with velvety petals that live up to the name 'Black Lace'. They bloom profusely in late winter to early spring.

Location:

• This Camellia is best in partial shade to shade, in a sheltered spot in the garden or on a terrace. Avoid direct midday sun to protect the bloom.

Water requirement:

• Regular watering is necessary, especially during the growth and flowering period. Keep the soil moist but well-drained, and avoid allowing the shrub to sit in standing water.
